Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: January 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before booking a session with Wessex Canine Clinical Massage. By booking an appointment, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These services are provided in Chippenham, Wiltshire and surrounding areas.

1. Veterinary Consent

In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, veterinary consent must be obtained prior to the treatment of any animal. We cannot treat your dog without this written consent.

It is your responsibility to ensure your veterinarian has signed the consent form and that it has been returned to us before your initial consultation. We reserve the right to refuse treatment if this consent has not been received.

2. Booking & Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens. However, as a small business, late cancellations affect us significantly.

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance: No charge / Full refund if prepaid.
  • Cancellations made within 24-48 hours: 50% of the session fee may be charged.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or No-Shows: 100% of the session fee will be charged.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, including practitioner illness or severe weather.

3. Payment

Payment is due at the time of the appointment or upon booking (if online payment is enabled). We accept cash and bank transfers.

4. Health & Safety

Please inform us immediately if your dog has:

  • Any contagious diseases (e.g., Kennel Cough).
  • Had surgery within the last 3 months.
  • Any new injuries or medical conditions since the last session.
  • Any behavioral issues (aggression, fear, reactivity).

We reserve the right to terminate a session immediately if we feel the safety of the practitioner or the dog is compromised. In such cases, full payment may still be required.

5. Liability

While every care is taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your dog, Wessex Canine Clinical Massage accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage occurring during or after treatment, unless due to proven negligence.

Owners are required to disclose all relevant medical and behavioral history. Failure to do so may result in injury or ineffective treatment, for which we cannot be held responsible.

6. Privacy

We value your privacy. Your personal information and your dog's medical records are stored securely and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
